Who Gets the $$$?

On July 4 of this year, flash floods devastated Central Texas. The Guadalupe River rose 26 feet in 45 minutes and washed away homes, vehicles, and the Camp Mystic campgrounds. More than 130 people died

When I wrote about a Central Texas flood several years ago, I hoped readers would suspend disbelief about the possibility of such a disaster in our area. Now they have no problem believing it. So it seemed natural to me to have a fundraiser based on that story, Rained Out and Other Texas Holiday Disasters (Black Orchid Enterprises Mysteries Book 4). It’s been successful beyond my wildest dreams, though to be fair, my wildest dreams were around $39.95.

You get to help me pick the Kerrville charity because I just can’t decide. I couldn’t put links in the quiz, but you can learn more about the organizations here: Texas Search and Rescue; The Community Foundation; Alamo Search and Rescue (who inspired Cupcake the Wonder Dog in my series); Center Point, Comfort, Hunt, and Ingram Volunteer Fire Departments; and the STAR fund.

Which local Kerrville charity should receive the funds raised from sales of Rained Out?
Do you have a heartwarming rescue or disaster story you'd like to share, because we could all use some sunshine? It can be about animals, people, houseplants, whatever.
