The aftermath of World War II finds detective Lou Delacroix trying to scrape out a living on the mean streets of New Orleans, harder for Marie-Louise Delacroix now that men have returned from the war. A beautiful blonde with a missing husband begs Lou for help. As she wades through the swampy parts of town full of voodoo, music, and crime, can Lou find the husband and save her client’s life? She’ll settle for one, and she’s got her preference.
