Gingerbread Houses

Gingerbread House for 2022 in the White House https://www.whitehouse.gov/holidays-2022/

The biggest one is in Texas, naturally. But I’ve got to admit that the White House does a good job with theirs. They’ve been practicing a long time, so they should be getting it right, even if they go off script with white chocolate and sugar cookies. Check out the rest of their holiday hoopla. Johnny’s particularly happy that they’ve got a menorah.

They even have a gingerbread house contest, like we’re having this year, but they must have been doing that longer too, because they’re just asking for photos, instead of lining them up in the gallery, like we’re doing.

So the biggest gingerbread house, the one built by the Traditions Club in Bryan, Texas, couldn’t compete in our contest, because it wouldn’t fit through the door. It’s big enough to live in, 39,000 square feet of butter, sugar and more than 23,000 pieces of candy. I’m taking notes though, because after this year, I don’t think anyone wants another contest like this inside the house. Read The Sphynx Who Stole Christmas to see what I’m talking about.

Dianne said I should write about the gingerbread contest instead of Guadalupe Day, like I did last year, but I still want to wish her happy,  since it’s her saint’s day or something like that.
